Overview
Embark on an unforgettable rail journey, the low-carbon way, from Graz, Austria through the heart of Europe, stopping in Zurich, Switzerland, before arriving in London.
Day 1 – Graz, Austria to Zurich, Switzerland (approx. 9 hours and 29 minutes).
Board the train from Graz, Austria to Salzburg, Austria – approx. 4 hours and 5 minutes; then from Salzburg, Austria to Zurich, Switzerland – approx. 5 hours and 24 minutes.
Upon arriving in Zurich, make your way to your hotel, which is a short 6-minute walk away.
Check-in at Swiss Chocolate by Fassbind or similar.

At the northern tip of the lake that shares its name, Zurich is Europe’s leading economic hub. However, scratch beneath the surface of Zurich’s financial reputation and you’ll find an attractive Altstadt (old town) and, to the west, a post-industrial district filled with cool bars, art collectives and fashion upstarts.
The architecture and decoration of the Swiss Chocolate hotel is inspired by the story of the Swiss Chocolate industry and includes a chocolate fountain by the front desk. The rooms are bright and modern, and the main train station is a 6-minute walk away. The hotel has a bar and offers free of charge access to nearby fitness centres.
If time allows, visit the Fraumünster, a former abbey famous for its stained glass windows, then finish off with a visit to Café & Conditorei 1842 for a hot chocolate (or tipple) and cake in elegant surroundings. Climb Zürich’s mountain, Uetliberg, which towers an impressive 850m high and offers great views of the city and its lake.
There’s so much to do, so leave what time you can to explore Zurich.
Day 2 – Zurich, Switzerland to London, UK (approx. 6 hours and 21 minutes).
Board a train from Zurich, Switzerland to Paris, France – approx. 4 hours and 5 minutes; then from Paris, France to London, UK – approx. 2 hours and 16 minutes.
